How To Use the Line Drawings
Each line drawing is provided in a number of formats:
- A medium-resolution PNG format. Use this directly on a web page or document. In Internet Explorer, right click on the image and select Save Picture As...
- A scalable vector graphic (SVG) format. You can use this to create images of any size, without losing the picture if you make it very small, and without the picture getting blocky if you make it very big. In Internet Explorer, right click on the SVG link and select Save Target As... See below for more detail of working with SVG files.
- A high-resolution TIFF format. You can use this as an alternative to the SVG file for higher-resolution printing, or as the starting point if you want to edit the image yourself. In Internet Explorer, right click on the TIFF link and select Save Target As...
Working with SVG files
Download the free Inkscape program, and follow the installation instructions.
Open the downloaded SVG files using Inkscape.
You can now use Inkscape to edit the file, and to save the file in various formats.
To create a new PNG file of any size suitable for printing, select the File menu, then the Export Bitmap... option.
Select the Page option at the top to export the whole page.
Set the required bitmap size, and a suitable file name.
Select Export to perform the export.
